4 Sisters,to many art supplies and a Victorian die-cut swallow

Hi everyone! Welcome to my little blog.

      I have been working with my three sisters for my mom's 80th birthday. After all the planning and discussions there is only about a month left. A little panic is setting in as I am making her a gift. Will it be done in time?! It has to be. So in a month I will have pictures of the project that has taken so much of my time. What an adventure. 4 sisters with 4 opinions and ideas. My youngest sister has to deal with 3 older (and bossy) sisters. She is holding her own and handling admirably the conflicts that have taken place.She is so sweet and thoughtful. My middle sister is the one who should have a blog! Very crafty and artistic. I really enjoy discussing the surprize gift with her. She keeps me enthused.

       My middle sister  made a comment about the tendacy to hoard art and craft supplies. Now really, there is no such thing!  We all "need" lots of glue, paper,fabric, bits of lace paint etc..to make into our creations. How many of you have a desk or even a roomful of treasures to work with.

       My this is a chatty post! I need to add to your supply of pretty images.  A lovely Victorian die-cut swallow and three Edwardian floral cards are todays pictures. Do you have any requests? If so just ask and I will do my best to find just what you are looking for.

Hi everyone! For some reason I like old Victorian die-cut scraps.What a nice lady like activity finding pictures to arrange into a book. The Victorians would fit right in with our contemporary scrap booking and paper craft trends. My scrap book is in my computer! The hunting and gathering of pictures to "cut" and "paste" is what I have come to like. Even more than making a physical scrap book album. Finding surviving old albums is treat offering a glimpse into someones life over a hundred years ago.The scraps in today's post have been cleaned up a little to restore the colours and any tears. Being well over 100 years old they are free for your use.

Good morning to you all! We have rain and more on the way. Not sure if I am ready for cloudy skies and cooler temperatures

 I love those super soft fluffy socks and wear them all the time when it is cold. This afternoon out came a pair to keep my toe's all cozy. Do you have dollar stores near you.? Everything is $1.00 so I stocked  up my supply of cozy socks. Bored yet?

Legacy news--There is a new manager whom I have not met yet. Last week they moved everything into the temporary location. The remodeling of  the old store began on Sunday. Maybe I will like the changes and new people. I hope so. Change is not my forte' And of course Sherry made me feel comfortable and I miss hear dearly.

Enough jibber-jaber from me. You came for the pictures. While going through old books I came across these wonderful illustrations. Perfect for scrap booking frames, labels or as an element in a collage. And to finish the post with a flourish, a nest with a gathering of bird friends. I just knew you would like them.

One day my grandmother Nana went to pick out some old bird prints. She let me pick out several. It is one of those memories that really stuck in my mind. When ever I see antique bird prints it reminds me of that day.I just love the humming birds.

Now I really must attend to the Legacy buttons!

      Have to tell you about this blog!!! It was one of my "traffic sources" so I checked it out and it is so pretty! love the ideas. I have an old parasol that I can not wait to redo based on what she has done. There is a translation button thank goodness!! www.tineskreativehjorne.com

    Also after pondering what to do with my bathroom for some time I feel inspired!!! Now I know what I want to do after seeing all the white and silver gray on Tineskcreatvehjorne. Silver gray walls, white frames, silver vases with white flowers, spray paint some metal thingy's silver and make a beautiful lace duvet into a shower curtain. Tending to be slow at these things I'll post how it turns out(probably in a few years!!)

It is 3:00 a.m. and I just woke up. Not just a little but very awake and can't seem to fall back asleep. Oh well, it must be blog time!
Yesterday was a day for pricing lots of buttons. Everyday and the antique and vintage ones. I just need to research what to price the unusual buttons.It feels good to be completing this batch for the week.

  Dear visitors and followers, welcome!
     Were have I been you may wonder. Just sick and cranky! Today I actually feel better.Since I have not posted for so long this post is rich with lots of pretty pictures.
      Do you know about swap playing cards? I have just discovered them! In an old scrap book,late 1930's, there are pages of single playing cards pasted inside. Originally I thought it was a fun hobby my aunt did. Now I have found out that these are collectible and people still collect single swap playing cards. Isn't that fun! They are very securely glued onto the pages and I am not really sure how to best remove them. I soaked a test one in water and it worked but I do not want to ruin some of the other cards. Any suggestions?
     I just love those decorated little match boxes so I hunted around and found a little box that has a drawer.It has to have a drawer. So glad I did not throw it away! It is going through it's make over and hopefully will turn out nicely.
    
I love the mountains! This reminds me of Glacier National Park in Montana. It has been a very long time since my last camping trip. Might not be so easy to sleep in a tent at this point! I am much slower at getting up.

When I came across this shoe I just had to post it. It was in excellent shape and so pretty and feminine.

Another day, another post of yummy images.
   Today the secretary(me) will be doing some much needed filing. My scans are all over my computer in various folders. Some make sense and are perfectly organized. Others are "what are you doing over here or there!?)
    First thing in the morning and the last thing at night I am blogging! What has happened to me! Blogging is so addicting. Wonderful comments and incredible blogs out there are quite a delightful distraction.  Teri Gordon stopped by and be sure and visit her lovely blog. It is full of very creative lace crowns.
    The sun has been hiding behind the grey clouds for days and is expected to stay there. There are so many little treasures that need sun to be photographed. A little frustrating but I still love working with all my scanned images.

Looking at this picture from "Good morning dear children" feels so light and cheery and always puts a smile on my face. Instant art for a little ones room or a greeting card to lift someones spirits.

My aunt is obviously posing for my grandfather. It was a set up but so cute. I love the shadow of papa's hat!

 There is something very satisfying about posting antique photographs, vintage postcards and illustrations from old books. I wonder what you are making and crafting from them. Has anyone used them in an ATC? I find them very fascinating. And the beautiful altered art, how could I not enjoy posting all the free pictures for you to click and clip into your creations.
